Yasin Shah-Bakhsh has been sentenced by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court to ten years of imprisonment and death on charges of “membership in armed groups opposed to the state” and “involvement in clashes and the killing of military personnel and the district governor of Goharkuh, Taftan.”
According to the Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network (BHRDN), a Baloch prisoner has been sentenced to ten years in prison and death.
The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Yasin (Mosayeb) Shah-Bakhsh, a 22-year-old man and son of Gol Mohammad.
According to sources cited by the Documentation Network, the sentence of ten years’ imprisonment and death was formally communicated to Yasin by Branch Two of the Zahedan Revolutionary Court. He is currently being held in Ward 9 of Zahedan Central Prison.
The sources stated that the charges brought against Yasin include “membership in armed groups opposed to the state” and “involvement in clashes and the killing of military personnel and the district governor of Goharkuh, Taftan.” Yasin has rejected these allegations, stating that he was subjected to physical and psychological torture during detention and was forced to make confessions under coercion.
On 23 February 2026, the state television of the Islamic Republic of Iran broadcast a video containing the confessions of Yasin, Vahid Rigi, and Younes Dehmardeh.
Yasin was arrested on 29 October 2024 while traveling with his half-brother, Kamran (Sadis) Etemadzadeh (Shah-Bakhsh), from Zahedan to Bandar Abbas in search of work. He was violently detained by security forces on Azadi Street in Zahedan.
Sources from the Documentation Network had previously reported that both Yasin and Kamran were subjected to physical and psychological torture during their detention in an effort to extract forced confessions.
Regarding Kamran’s case, who is currently being held at the Juvenile Rehabilitation and Correction Center of Zahedan Prison, sources stated that bail for his release has been set at 20 billion tomans.
It should be noted that the Balochistan Human Rights Documentation Network had previously reported on the issuance of severe sentences against Yasin Shah-Bakhsh, Vahid Rigi, and Younes Dehmardeh.
